Experience in Heroic PIt of Saron (5 man Icecrown Citadel Test)

first trash is cake, just some mages with 151k, and some little minions that die in like 1 fan of knives
a few proto drake guys, but really had no problem with trash on heroic mode.

Forgemaster Garfrost: its pretty much just a dps race, he constantly does a low dmg frost nova, sort of like a diablo 2 aura, dealing frost damage, and u get a debuff, stacking ever 2 secs that increases frost damage taken by 10/20/30% etc. just burn him fast,
debuff can be removed by cloak of shadows(all i know on debuff so far)
at 25% he runs to his forge and does some stuff, not sure what it does yet, only 1 kill.
but i think he buffs his weapon.
then he does throw saronite at someone, you can just dodge it like a shadow crash
and he freezes people in an ice block occasionally.
not sure the reason yet, but i think it might be do to x stacks of permafrost (the frost dmg debuff)
just finish him off, my only advice as of now.

Ick: this fight is really fun, he has to be kited out of his green ooze things, just like his trash. at 50% he does a poison nova, just run out of it.
he will do pursuit shortly after, increasing dmg by 50% and reducing movement by 75%, untauntable during this. just kite him, and hope ur dps doesnt pull threat.
twice he will cast explosive barrage, creating mines at the feet of the players, so u have to run around a lot during this, 10 sec cast. just keep moving and avoid the current mines and you should b safe.

1 shotted him.

got stuck on the trash inbetween Ick, and the mine entrance.

A Lesson in the Art of Combat Rogue-ing as of 3.2.2

Talents: Coming Soon(Pressed for Time ATM).

Weapon info: For max combat dps, you want your main hand weapon to be as slow as possible, and your offhand should be as fast as possible. ie: 2.6/1.5. This is because the majority of your dps comes from your MH sinister strikes, which takes the weapon damage from your MH, and since it is an instant attack, the speed wont effect it, you just want the slower weapon for the higher weapon damage. You want a fast off-hand to guarantee 100% uptime of a 5 stack Deadly Poison. Also because your offhand hits can proc a refund of 40 energy (when talented).

Poisons: You want Wound Poison on your Main Hand and Deadly Poison on off-hand.

Boss Rotation: Most classes have a set rotation...just the WORD rotation = NUBB. It can be viable to have a set opener, and certain things to do during certain phases, such as during heroism, you may have a rotation, but the majority of your button mashing should depend on whats going on in the fight. DoT and buff timers must ALWAYS be considered! Especially as a rogue! Much like a warrior, your "ability using" ability is going to always be sporadic, because there are variables that could increase your regen of energy. Meaning you can go on forever, but you have to pay attention, unlike a mana class whereas your rotation would just be "FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL!" until you run OOM (Out of Mushrooms) and then sit there and cry as your meter whoring character's damage drops down 6 places because you cant do anything but /sleep now. So, as a rogue, to open up every fight...at least, if you want to do more than 2k dps, you should always cast "TRICKS OF THE TRADE" on the tank. This should only be necessary at the beginning of the fight, otherwise the tank = PHAIL. But doing it at the beginning of the fight means that by the time you reach the boss, the 15 energy will be refunded already, and you will get a headstart on damage, usually putting you, and keeping you at that number 1 spot. Next you should do 2x Sinister Strikes - SnD - 5 Combo Points through Sinister Strikes - Rupture. Notice that I did NOT say 2 combo SnD, because with the Glyph of Sinister Strike, you may proc 2 combo points with a Sinister Strike Crit, if it procs, cool beans, but still do the 2 sinisters for the head start from tricks of the trade, and because no1 will fight a 3 CP SnD. Am I right? Now here is where variables come into play. After this opener, check and see if your SnD is under 12 secs, if you procced 3 CP's on the first run for SnD, you should be well over 12 secs, but if it is under 12, then give it another 2 sinister refresh, then cast killing spree. AS SOON AS KILLING SPREE IS OVER, pop Blade Flurry, Adrenaline Rush, and any trinkets you have, Time to do some nasty damage. Do a quick 5 combo rupture, then a 5 combo snd, and keep these two going back to back, any time that you have rupture and snd running, and you have 5 combo points from sinister spam, always use RUPTURE FIRST! if it doesnt let you use rupture, then check the timer on rupture, if it is >10 secs, then go to SnD, check timer on SnD, if it is >12 seconds, then hit him hard with a 10K EVISCERATE! If Snd is < 12 secs, just refresh SnD and go back to the normal 5cp rupture 5cp SnD, if your rupture is <5 secs, then just keep sinister striking until it runs out, and refresh the rupture. Now that you know the basics, your dps should be much higher than usual... and now that your cooldowns are all burnt up, just keep this up and you should be near the top. Make sure to burn your CD's as soon as they come back up.

During Heroism: When heroism pops, get a quick 5cp rupture 5cp snd going, then you should have plenty of time to do a 5cp eviscerate in between each rinse. Again keep an eye on your timers, so that nothing falls off. Be Smart, RoseArt.

Multi Mob Trash Pulls: Here's the easy-mode of how to rogue. Blade Flurry + Trinx + Killing Spree. Once KS expires, Adrenaline Rush + FoK till death. step 3 = win

Single Mob Trash: 2x sinister snd - 5 cp rupture - 5 cp eviscerate. Rinse and Repeat.

Glyphs: Glyph of Rupture, so that you dont have to Reapply as often. Glyph of Sinister Strike, so that you can get 2x combo points from crits occasionally O.o . And Glyph of Killing Spree (Personal Opinion for Max DPS) so that you can spam that shit like no other!, reduces CD by 45 seconds. Very Beneficial on ONYXIA, because although we are SUPPOSED to be allowed to melee her from the ground... sadly blizz fails and we really cant. So when Killing Spree is up, run to her shadow, hit the space bar, and spam that shit, and watch your dwarf take off at onyxia like he's got a jet pack, and kick her ass for 6 seconds.

Weapon Enchants: MH - ZERK/OH - GOOSE.
Why? cuz i said so...

zerk DOES NOT STACK, the only benefit of having double zerk is for the increased proc %... but it is a huge waste when they both proc, so go zerk/goose for the chance of having them both up which = win.

Armor Enchants:

Head: Stone Keeper shard enchant until you can get the one from Knights of the Ebon Blade.
Shoulder: Stone Keeper shard enchant until you can get the EPIC enchant from Son's of Hodir
Back: Major Agility +22 Agility
Chest: Powerful Stats +10 to stats
Bracers: Become a Leatherworker and get 130 Attack Power, otherwise get Greater Assault: 50 Attack Power
Gloves: Crusher +44 Attack Power
Boots: Greater Assault +32 Attack Power

Gems: Relentless Earthstorm Diamond = Meta
Gem for AGILITY. Why? Because I said so.

STAY AT OR ABOVE 261 HIT RATING! 8.05% (with talents)
otherwise you suck!

Try to get AT LEAST 100 expertise

and you should be around 39-40% UNBUFFED crit.
